About
NC State is a data science and AI university where everyone is empowered to use data and artificial intelligence (AI) effectively and responsibly
AI at NC State (ai.ncsu.edu), a product of the NC State AI Advisory Group and the Data Science and AI Academy, serves as a central hub for AI-related courses, research, tools, guidance and resources. This work aligns with NC State’s Wolfpack 2030 strategic plan, outlining the university’s long-term priorities for institutional effectiveness and innovation using data-driven technologies.
NC State AI Advisory Group
The AI Advisory Group is a cross-campus body of faculty and staff that provides strategic guidance on AI priorities, ethical use of AI tools and emerging AI opportunities. The group helps ensure AI activity across the university aligns with NC State values, priorities and policies.
The group’s work is carried out through three subgroups focused on research, education and business use, each contributing to guidance in key areas of AI across the university. This includes foundational resources, such as the university’s guiding principles for generative AI and guidance on AI for research and business use.
